• The focus is on the 33rd lake crossing, this time from Moerbisch to Illitz over 3.0 k

• For the 5th time, the double lake crossing over 6.0 k is a special challenge for our particularly ambitious long-distance swimmers.

Background

The traditional Classic-Lake-Crossing was expanded in 2013 into a multi-day swimming festival with  9 competitions and 11 various swimming distances for competitive athletes and beginners, young and old, fun and health as well as competitive youth events.

The national park region of Lake Neusiedl and it's UNESCO-World Heritage Site form the perfect natural environment for swimming in the largest steppe lake in Central Europe. The largest outdoor opera  stage in the world, covering 6,000 people, forms the unique backdrop for the swimming competitions in the lake arena in the seaside resort of Mörbisch with its surrounding reeds. In Illmitz and the surrounding area, the natural beauty of the unique steppes and natural landscape captivates as well.

Uniquely, you can swim at Lake Neusiedl by the shipping line at a constant depth of 1.7 - 2 meters. Around the special Mörbisch bath island you can be a close companion and supporter accompaning the athletes throughout  their lap. The sheltered course allows safe swimming even at higher wind speeds.

An extensive framework and leisure program, including sports fair and special programm for kids, makes the weekend worth-while for the whole family.
